Sven Adolph

He is an experienced industrial designer with a deep love for the profession, a keen eye for form and tenacity for detail and precision. Swen enjoys meeting people, developing a vision, bringing projects to fruition and guiding and mentoring young designers to achieve outstanding work.

He manages a diverse range of projects for numerous Swiss and international clients, such as ABB, Harman International, iQAir, Laufen, Ligne Roset, Nemo/Cassina, Steelcase and Swisscom, among others. He is responsible for all aspects of running an independent consultancy: from acquisition, design work, project management, to hiring and training employees, managing contracts, and other legal matters.

He worked on office furniture for Lienhard Office Group (Lista) and interface design for Schindler Elevators. I also trained and directed Interns and junior designers.

As part of the Global Design Team at Philips, he initiated and developed a global design language for a family of eight different VCR and DVD machines and handled all the designwork. Sven managed the relationships with the varied stakeholders in Asia, the US and Europe to help convince them of the then new and unproven approach of a unified global product design language.

Among his awards: Red Dot Design Award, Nomination Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Lights of the Future Award, Neri Award Public Lighting and Street Furniture Neri spa, IF “Gutes Industriedesign” Industrie Forum, International Ceramic Design Festival, LG Design Wettbewerb, International Design the Future Competition.
