"Intermezzo" is an impressionistic short story that was written by Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky. This is a story about a lyrical hero who is spiritually restored when he meets nature. Illustrations are created under the impression of the works of Martin Disler. He is associated with the Neue Wilde painting style. The novel's story is divided into three phases - moods, which is emphasized by the addition of color in the illustration. The lack of color in the illustrations - is the depression and fatigue of the lyric hero. Gradual addition of color - spiritual restoration, harmony. The predominance of red color - the indignation of the hero, willingness to actively act for the benefit of society.
