Ilenia is the co-founder & creative director of illo, a design studio with a focus on motion design, illustration and set design. Colorful aesthetics & clear storytelling are the main ingredients of the studio’s works.

Founded by Ilenia Notarangelo & Luca Gonnelli in 2012, illo is a world-class design studio operating from beautiful Turin, Italy. The very diverse team is formed by 15 people of different nationalities, educational backgrounds and they are, proudly, gender-balanced. Pizza, respect and love for design & technology are the things that tie them together.

They started working for micro-startups, and now they are happy to include some of the biggest digital brands on earth among our clients, such as Google, Snapchat, Bloomberg and Airbnb.

In almost 9 years, illo had the chance to talk in front of international audiences at some design & motion conferences like Blend festival, Move Summit and Mouvo.

Also, some of their projects received several awards. Among the others, the ADC award with the automated video campaign for Bloomberg Futures, the Vimeo Staff Pick and the Communication Art awards for Illustration for their brand video “I am Inupiaq”, created for Akima, the Site of the Day on Awwwards with their brand new website and the interactive studio project Tarot-o-bot.

Ilenia is also the ambassador for Ladies, Wine & Design project in Turin, powered by Jessica Walsh, a global non-profit initiative to empower women & non-binary creatives around the world. And she is currently part of the jury of Digital Design Award and Motion Design Award.
