Telescope Live is an innovative company that allows us, earthlings, to look beyond the horizon and literally ‘shoot’ even the farthest stars. Its software assured celestial object observation using a remote network of professional robotic telescopes worldwide and equipped with the best cameras and filters for astrophotography. We were entrusted with an honorable mission to redesign an outdated web-application and a website. They ought to help users in learning astrophotography, transforming their genuine curiosity into practical experience. For our designs, we’ve chosen a metaphoric concept of a sextant. It is a tool for determining the angle between the horizon and a celestial body. The device consists of an arc of a circle marked off in degrees and a movable radial arm pivoted at the center of the circle. It is a very engaging shape device, which makes you want to twist, adjust, and simply try to figure out how it works. It may seem quite challenging to use (even to pronounce), but in fact, it is effortless to operate. We wanted to translate the very same idea with Telescope Live products: they show us incredible and hard-to- comprehend objects while remaining visually appealing and understandable at the same time.
