n the spring of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic swept the world. UNICEF was looking for a way to communicate effectively with young people about the new rules of safe behavior. We made Covidyk the main character of communication. He did not listen to lectures on the threat of COVID-19, but behaved like our audience - he rebelled against the new rules and encouraged young people to socialize: at a party, a picnic, a movie theatre. Involving this character, we created a whole illustrated world with characters who get into different situations and learn to live in the New Normal. To talk easy about complicated things, we limited the number of means of expression: only 2 brand colors and the simplest linear illustration with a minimum of details. Lack of extra details enabled to create visual stories on any topic, while keeping a unified style and recognizability of the profile. In total, during the project, more than 100 illustrated stories were created in various formats: from static visuals to animated infographics.
