The research is devoted to the definition of architectural and planning features of the organization of children's parks to improve their effective functioning in the system of a modern city. Relevance of the topic is at the critical state of children's parks and cities in Ukraine, we need to find ways to optimize their built environment, community needs and the requirements in the allocation and dissemination of various types of children's parks, the presence of the provisions and programs for children's recreational areas, requiring the formation of a unified holistic and distinct structure, ratio of areas for children's activities to the territory in accordance with the residential areas, parks, culture and recreation. Despite the current theoretical study and practical solutions, negative state of children's parks show the need of a comprehensive study. Based on comparative and typological analysis, field survey and experimental design analyzed in specialized children's parks located within the city limits from the chronological beginning of the twentieth century until now, considered the factors of influence on the formation of children's parks, the basic requirements for their architectural and planning organization. The scientific novelty of this research is to determine the scientific principles of the architectural organization of children's parks in the modern urban environment. The practical significance of the work lies in the design of children's park on the island Truhanov in Kiev, on based on specified principles of architectural planning and organizing children's parks. Architectural and planning organization of children's park is based on an assessment of an urban setting, landscape environment, knowledge of modern requirements for architectural and spatial organization of recreational environment for children. Dominant core composition of the park is the image that combines exhibits such as sea, air, sports miniature sailing ship, submarines, aircraft carriers, helicopters, warships, fighter aircraft, and last but not least a large parachute. Functional zoning provides for the organization of the park by using regular methods and landscape styles. Each zone represents interesting shapes of the characters of fairy tales, cartoons, movies, modern amorphous forms, properties, structures and colors. Each principle is realized through the techniques of the territory (zoning by age group, the functional zoning of content areas, including age) Introduction of a system guidelines will help to optimize the functioning of the children's park, create a unique image, development of the system children's recreation in a natural environment.
