Implementation July 2015 Customer Olga Melnychuk Area 120 m2 Photographer Andrew Bezuglov This July new bar “I BAR” was opened in Slavutych city. Beautiful city of power engineers needed a kind of place where one could have a good meal and spend time in atmospheric and stylish place. Bar’s area is a part of the big public building – concert-film complex that was built with using perfect natural finishing materials – marble floor, travertine walls. That’s why concept of the future interior project “to leave all like it is” was accepted by me and my customer with full agreement. In crisis terms this is the right solution, budget economy is the main task for project designer. The only and necessary thing that was needed to be done is to dig out and release from old gypsum board a magic space with 120 m2 square and ceiling with 4.5m height, and then – to fill the space with beauty. Idea of creating such projects isn’t new, in the world of interior design it’s practically regular case. You are free in choosing style and just create your own democratic modern design in the place, that have been entrusted to you As a result we see an interior design that can’t be referred to some specific style. But I can definitely say that artistic calm atmosphere prevails in this bar and it does not distract guests from their meal! The whole team of talented Ukrainian masters, furniture designers and manufacturers, artists helped me to fill the room with beauty. My goal and desire was to bring to my project specifically Ukranian designers and manufacturers, and I did it. One of these manufacturers was Ukranian furniture company Home Ideas Supply. Their furniture was developed by Ukranian designer Igor Martin and became dignified decoration of this project. Ukranian design studio “Lazariev design” and designer Fyodor Lazariev have made a collection of chairs individually for project “I BAR” and his small “pack” of chairs “Fox” has seen the world for the first time and found its place in it. Ukranian company Mon – Bon designer Anton Do'r (chairs), company Kovka.com (metal products ), artists Andrey Shorty and Oleg Zhuk have also participated in the project. All decoration items (more than 20 objects), door handles and collection of lamps (6 models – 28 items) were made by my sketches. Chairs and sculptures in guest zone were made based on works of the famous American designer John Risley. I have also designed a logo, outdoor advertising and corporate style.
