Brief. Our task was to make poster for documentary movie about family that live in the front-line war zone of Donbas, Ukraine. Every member of the family has a passion for cinema, motivating them to shoot a film inspired by their own life during a time of war.The creative process raises the question of what kind of power the magical world of cinema could have during times of disaster. Design. Basement and attic — are central symbols in our concept, as they are the leitmotif of the movie. The idea is based on the symbolism of their polarity. Basement is a hole - but is it in the ground, or in the ceiling? The only question is how to you interpret it. Family hides from bombs in the basement and at the same time in the same movie characters make their own movie. There is a contrast between devastation and creativity. The film director managed to very subtly reveal the theme of the opposite phenomena that have to exist nearby. On the one hand, naive graphics, on the other — black spots in the basement, sight and movie about war. Printing. The poster was printed using silk printing. We chose this technology because we wanted to create a feelings of craft and childish naivety in the poster.
